What's New...

UPDATED Sept 2009:

DID YOU SAY GRAMMY?
“Americana Express” is Grammy eligible this year. That means if you are a voting member of NARAS - The Recording Academy - you can vote for the Best Americana Album Category (under American Roots Music)
THE NEW ALBUM IS DOING GREAT! "Americana Express" packs 12 songs including 10 originals and is ready for you to come aboard and check it out. CDbaby.com/cd/ruthiewranglers will get you a sample of every song. The new album hit radio in March and is already making a great big Americana splash. It was #62 on the Americana Radio Charts, #37 on the Roots Country Chart and #12 on the F.A.R. chart! This CD is a real collaboration with the band, highlighting everyone's unique writing skills and by popular demand, the band has finally recorded "I Got a Rocket in My Pocket" by Jimmie Logsdon (Ruthie's 3rd cousin). Phil has a dynamite new instrumental and Bill's Repo Man song will knock you out! And of course there's more... Read all about it in NoDepression's online review at

RUTHIE AT NERFA (Northeast Regional Folk Alliance Conference)
Ruthie will be showcasing at NERFA in November, stay tuned for date(s)

Andy Rutherford is our new guitar player! Phil Mathieu's shoes are mighty hard to fill but turns out Andy's got chops to spare! We love it and he fits right in. Check out his baritone guitar antics on track one of Americana Express for a taste! Look for his signature steel sound on our live versions of "The Last Word in Love."

July 18th we will pair up with Bill Kirchen and play an opening set at the Birchmere in Alexandria Virginia. This will be a show not to be missed...sounds cliché but oh so true! Check out the tour dates page to see details

Our CD release concert at BlackRock Center for the Arts, was a great success! Thank you to Ty Braddock and Patty Doughrty of Ty Braddock and the Branded Men for being special guests, and XM radio host Mary Sue Twohy for Emceeing, Michael G. Stewart for his amazing americana imagery slideshow, Spencer Stewart for his vintage cowboy hat collection and to all of you for attending and making it a wonderful evening.

Our TX shows were phenonemal, as we were taking in all of the sites that taco toting climate has to offer. SXSW sure gets Austin filled up fast with tons of excellent entertainment. We performed 7 shows in 3 days.

2008 was an awesome year performing the sold out Patsy Cline Tibutes "Memories of a Star" a real honor for me, participating in the BHG tribute shows at The Barns of Wolftrap, and everything in between. Most importantly, we spent most of it writing and recording our new album. I am so psyched about you hearing our new tunes.

Thank you for all of your support each year. Ruthie and the Wranglers have won over 25 WAMMIES to date including Album of the Year, Country Vocalist, Artist of the Year and Song of the Year. It's an honor and a pleasure to be a part of DC's great music community.
Yers, Ruthie
